My Simple Wish

I have a simple wish today. A wish it will have to remain. I don't want to work this week and I want to be independently wealthy. Oh well, we do what we gotta do, right?

School is out on Friday. Connor will be out for the summer. He is so excited to be a first grader, he talks about it all of the time. He's excited to be able to eat lunch in school. I can't say as I blame him, I walked in the school one day at lunch time and my mouth was watering it smelled so good. Remember those delicious white rolls? Peanut butter bars? My favorite were the hot ham and cheese sandwiches that were wrapped in foil. Deeeelish! I don't really know what we are going to do for the summer. We are going to go to Colorado on an off roading expedition that Sean has planned with our brother in law. We will be camping along the way, it should be lots of fun. Other than that, I guess the annual trip to lagoon, the zoo and probably the gardens at Thanksgiving Point. I wish I could say that I'm heading to New York to see my Amy Lou Poo, but not this summer :(.

I stayed up until 2:30 last night... well, I guess this morning. I was reading a really good book, I have not been able to put it down (thanks Nat for the great read). I had to go buy the second book to the series yesterday. Barnes and Noble didn't have it, can you believe? Borders did, they always come through for me. The book is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. It is so good, (and yes Amy, it is pretty graphic, that was the part I was trying to get through last night so I could close my eyes to good dreams). I'm really enjoying the story though. I guess I could have skimmed that part. The next book is Dragonfly in Amber (how cool is that name?) I'm really looking forward to it. If I could pull myself away from my blog and work for a few hours, then I'll reward myself with some reading.

I think I'm going to go try Yoga tonight. I'm a little worried about my wrist, as it is pretty stiff still, but we'll see. I've been promised that I won't pee my pants as it is a no impact workout. We shall see. I'm going at 8 if anyone wants to join me.

Another simple wish... to not pee my pants when I bounce... one day, I suppose.

Awesome Mothers Day!

Mothers day was great, so nice and mostly relaxing. Thank you Sean for making my day so nice. We hung out as a family, took a drive up the canyon (my happy place), visited with our mom's. It's nice to have our moms so close. Later, my sister came by with her family (it's an advantage living a mile away from my mom, I get her visitors too.) It was a really great mothers day. Connor made me a card at school and it says "I LAV MY MOM" it's a keeper.

I got a phone call from my niece who is living in Baltimore for the summer and she told me that she is pregnant! I can't believe I'm going to be a great aunt, sheesh! I'm so happy for Maddie and Mike they are super excited, well Maddie is, I think Mike might be a little shell shocked. They will be great parents. It's sad because I'm missing out on her first trimester because she's so dang far away. I can't hold her hair out of the toilet while she pukes.. I guess that's good, cause I'd puke too, and that would just be a vicious cycle. I'm just glad that they are coming back and I get to see the little baby and bond before they are off again. Congratulations Maddie Pie and Mikey Poo! We love you guys.

Maceys.... a little piece of heaven.

It is so sad what I imagine heaven to be anymore. After shopping at Walmart for several years, I was out and about and needed to go grocery shopping and happened to be by my old grocery store Maceys, so I stopped there to do my shopping. I felt like singing "Amaaaaaazzzzzziiiiiinnnnngggg". It is so clean, and they have everything, and lots of people to help you, every worker knows where everything is. When they bag up your stuff, they rubber band all of your cool aid or garden seeds together. The bagger talked to my kids and entertained them. I've decided I don't care how many grocery stores I have to drive past, I'm shopping at Maceys now.

Connor's Daddy is a Police Man

I didn't mean to get all of those pictures, just the one on the right, it's from the Sandy City Police website. That may actually be him undercover in the McGruff costume busting some druggie kids, who knows?

Sean was able to take off work early on Friday. He really wanted to take Connor to go see Iron Man. He talked his Sergeant into going with them (he only has girls and doesn't have an excuse to go see comic book movies). Sean called me when I was walking out the door to go get Connor from school and said that he'd pick him up. Connor was so excited that Dad picked him up from school in the police car. He was grabbing all of his friends saying "That's my Dad" and they all got excited to see a police officer at their school. It's funny how excited the kids get until Sean actually talks to them when he's in uniform. A few weeks ago one of Connor's friends was over and his friend wouldn't talk to him, he just looked at him. After Sean was changed into normal clothes he would talk to him just fine, it's funny. I guess a 6'5" man in a uniform could be pretty intimidating especially to a little boy. Back to the movie... they loved the movie they both want to go again. Sean said it was one of the best comic book movies, it was better than Transformers (I thought Transformers was really good, so I'm going to have to see Iron Man).

Sean was out at the FARM today, he's a firearms instructor. He always comes home from that place with simmunition bullet mess all over his clothes and welts all over his body. He's an instructor so he has to play the bad guy. He thinks it's a ton of fun... what ever toots your horn, right? One of todays welts actually needed a band aid, what the crap? That does not seem fun to me. So now he really will have a scar from a bullet wound I guess. Oh well, scars are sexy.

It's official I'm a domestic goddess

I made bread today! Everyone in the ward is making bread and I was thinking I probably should too. I got the recipe last night (thank you Kaylynn) and went to Mindy's today to get some bread makin' supplies, then off to Lehi Roller Mills to get the bread flour and yeast. A 25 lb bag of flour is now $15... yikes. I came home and whipped up a few loaves, it was so delicious! I think I won't be buying bread anymore, it's every bit as good as Grandma Sycamores. This was my first attempt at making a loaf of bread (not in the breadmaker) so yay me!

I'm Twilight Obsessed

Yes it's true, I'm Twilight obsessed. I think it's all my sisters fault, she made me read the books when I was pregnant and sick and had nothing else to do but lay around and read, then I read them two more times. I kind of got over the series and read some other books, but then I just got the books on my ipod (again my sisters fault), and I've been listening to them constantly. I know I'm sad, but it makes yard work go by fast, I listen to it in the car and at night going to sleep (it makes for fun dreams, except when I was reading the polygamy book, then I was having polygamy/Twilight dreams, that was weird), I can listen doing housework (yeah, right like I do that, but I could), and while making dinner. I put the picture of Eclipse because it is my favorite one in the series... so far... could they get better?
I think my husband is a great mix of Edward and Jacob. He is very warm, I think that he runs at one o' eight all of the time, so it's perfect for my cold feet at night, he can be blunt and to the point, sometimes sarcastic (that's the Jacob part). He is wise beyond his years (he's super smart, if you ever want to know anything, seriously you can ask him, 99.9% of the time he knows the answer, it's almost annoying), he looks younger than he is and he is so sweet to me, he loves me so much. And I love him back! I'm such a lucky girl (I'm also so lucky cause my sister is so cool! Thanks Jod, I lub ya!)

Is it stupidity?

Because of a particular situation, which I will not name to protect the innocent and ridiculous, I am remembering what it was like to be a teenager and thinking that what you have right then is more important than anything else in your life, like perhaps a boyfriend/girlfriend. I'm not remembering any particular instance, but I sure remember the feeling of thinking that this is what is the most important to me right now and poo poo on the rest of the people that revolve around me. Sean once threw a tennis ball at his little bro and his brother said "What was that for?" Sean said "I just wanted to see if it would go in orbit around you." Is it stupidity or selfishness? Because sometimes you just don't want to let down who you think is your 'significant other'. It's funny the choices that you make at that age (for me anyway) I look back on and cringe thinking "that was such a horrible decision" and then you feel like you really need to apologize to the people that you've hurt. I missed out on so many things because I thought that a stupid boy was more important than my family or friends. To this date, I've only met one boy that really is worth missing anything for, but the one that is worth it doesn't want me to miss out on anything and supports me by either being there with me or telling me that it's important to go, or just simply understands.
