I Still Have a Headache!

Two nights ago I was picking up toys before bed. I guess I was a little to close the the handrail by the stairs, and I must have been trying to do the Elle Woods (from Legally Blond) flip and pop or something. I hit the very top of my head on that rail so hard. It hurts to lift my eyebrows. Sheesh, leave it to me.

I've been simply amazed lately watching my boys. They are growing up so fast, it seems like if I blink they grow. I love watching Jackson play with his toys, he knows how they work and he knows how to make them do what he wants them to do. We have one of the old Fisher Price Garages sitting next to his toys, he uses it as a chair to play with other things or look in his toy box, it's so funny. And Connor I'm amazed with, he is doing so well in school. We went to parent teacher conference a few weeks ago and his teacher said that he is a 'model student'. It makes me so happy, because I SO wasn't. He is reading so well and he's understanding his homework. He can sit down and do his homework by himself, he reads the instructions and does it. I'm totally amazed. I'm such a happy mom to have such a beautiful and wonderful family.

We found out the other day that a guy that Sean works with is taking a few weeks off work to spend them with his 9 year old son, for the last few days of his life. He was diagnosed with leukemia two and a half years ago, he was given 8 months back then, so they were blessed to have some extra time, but now isn't responding to therapy. I simply can't imagine losing one of my children. I sometimes wonder if I'd be able to go on? I'm sure I'd trudge through, but it would crush me. I am grateful for the gospel and I'm grateful that I'm sealed to my family for all of eternity. It's such a comfort to know that I'd be able to be with them again. Their family is in our thoughts and prayers.

On much happier note. It's my friend Mandy W's birthday today! So HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY! I hope you have a super happy day today and I think that you should celebrate all weekend long.

Scentsy Party, My House, Tomorrow

Once again, I've dropped off the blogging map. I've been sucked into another great series of books, I'll be done in a few days and then life will be back to normal until I find more great books. Which is good because my housekeeping is lacking.

Tomorrow from 10am until noon I'll be hosting a Scentsy party at my house. Come if you can. I bought some Scentsy stuff a year ago and I've been an addict ever since. I love for my house to smell nice. They also have room sprays and car fresheners. I love the stuff. They have some new little wall plug in's too and great new fall scents... YUM! So come if you can. Even if you don't want to buy anything come by to socialize and have some little treats.

Learning to Mountain Bike

I have all the gear so now I need to learn to do it. Sean took me to Lambert Park Sat. morning for my first time doing some single track trails. We met our friend Ian who is a 'wicked awesome beast' when it comes to mountain biking. We just stayed on a beginner trail, it was still a little scary in some parts, like in the parts that are set up for a sweet jump. I don't jump yet. And when you are traversing through some really close trees, I got a little bark bite on my arm. And the part with the skinny little bridge with hand rails where my handle bar caught the hand rail and my wheel went in between the rungs. It was pretty awesome. I only fell once because I couldn't get my foot out of the clipless pedal thing, it was a graceful fall, I must say. It was so much fun. I can't wait to go again. We are shooting for Wed. after Sean gets home from work then again on Sat. If anyone wants to join us, let us know, it's sooooo much fun! (nudge nudge Amy J.).

P.S. that picture is totally me before I shaved Sat. morning. Isn't it sweet that I'm bankin' it?

My Baby's One... well he's actually almost 14 months.

I can hardly believe that our baby is 14 months old. We tried for four really long years to get our little baby boy, we went through a lot to get him here. It's amazing how fast the first year goes by, especially when he's not the first! It seems like the pregnancy will never end, when it does the time just flies by.

Connor loved his little brother from the very first day. He didn't ever want to leave him, and wanted to hold him all of the time. Still, he loves to play with him when he gets home from school or gets up in the morning.

Jack was our little yellow man for a little while. He had to be in the billi lights for a little over a week. He was such a good little boy under there. I was just sad that I couldn't hold him.

Now our little guy is a wild child! He's crazy and so funny, he keeps me laughing through out the day (well.. when I'm not screaming). He loves his swing on the swing set and the slide, he tries his hardest to climb up the slide by himself if we don't get him right back up.
This is one of my screaming times. he got in the comet in the bathroom. Thankfully he just played in it and didn't eat it. Now the comet is up high (the things you forget when you don't have a baby for a long time).

We love our little turd Jack Jack. We are so glad that he is a part of our family. He's been a miracle from the start. We love you Jack!

Our Ouray Trip

On the 8th we headed out for Ouray, Colorado. Sean and our brother-in-law have been planning this short little diddy for about a year now. We stayed at the KOA in our trailer and my bro.-in-law and sis.-in-law were smart and rented a cabin a few blocks down the road. Friday night Jack came down with a cold and we both probably got about 2 hours of sleep, poor little munchkin. Poor me too! It rained all night both nights. Sat. we got up bright and early and headed out to the mountains to do some off road trails (the reason for the whole trip). We did Black Bear Pass, which was so totally amazing, we drove over the mountain and dropped down into Telluride, I was so glad for the rain all night because I'm sure it made the waterfalls as amazing as they were, there were probably about 8 falls we drove by or through. Then we did Imogene Pass, it wasn't my favorite sights, but we were driving through the clouds which was super cool. Sean had a blast, he was totally in his element. Just get him on a really bumpy and steep dirt road and he's a happy camper! My camera battery died 1/2 way through the first trail, bummer.

Jack's birthday was on Sunday, so he sat in his car seat for 6 hours driving home... sick. Poor boy. We still haven't made him a cake and taken 1 yr pictures, we will as soon as he doesn't have snot running down his face.

This is the tiny town of Ouray, CO.

Connor and his cousin checking out the town from above.

There were a ton of bikers, I guess it's a big place to train for the tour de France.

The clouds over the point of the mountain.

Connor was really excited about this off roading trip! I don't know how they sleep on those bumpy roads.

Black Bear Pass

The wild flowers were so beautiful, I took way too many pictures of them.

Me and my schweetie.

Our cute little neice, I know it's only her back, but I liked this picture.

I made Sean stop so I could jump out and throw snow balls.

Victory Dance. My legs really didn't disappear, they just blend in with the snow.

Sean's sister and her family and our little family, Jack was interested in something else.

Sean's sister and two of hers, so cute!
We had a great time in Colorado! I'm so glad that we were able to go.

Step 1: Clean and Shine Your Sink... Check!

I've been feeling out of sorts for the last... um, while. I think it's because of the simple fact that my house is out of sorts, cluttered and completely unorganized. I used to be a real clean freak, probably almost to the point where I could have used some meds : ). In high school it would drive me crazy when friends would come in my room, pick something up, look at it and not put it back in the exact spot where it went and on the correct angle that it was facing (lol, sad an a little weird for a teenager I think). See I told you I probably should have been on medication for it. You've seen how my clothes are color coordinated in my closet, that started in Jr. High. Over the last few years with me being so sick and having a new baby... well, I don't really know what happened to me but I'll use that as my excuse. I thought it was okay until it's gotten to the point where I can't find things, my brain feels scattered and unorganized because my home is. My friends, things are about to change. Today I joined the FLYlady group. I will be expecting several emails everyday and I'm going to get my shtuff togetha! I'm excited about this, I'd forgotten about the FLYlady until my friend Katie said something about it. I signed up for it several years ago, but I only had one "hot spot" and got my sink shiny and I was pretty much done, so I unsubscribed from the group. I did step 1 today and it feels really good. I even did my bathroom sinks while I was at it and since I was standing by the toilets when I cleaned the the sinks, I put a little bleach in them as well and cleaned those nasty things up (toilets are so not my fave!). Here is my sink, shiny right?
I actually feel like I've started somewhere and I feel really great that I did something today rather than look and my mess and wonder where to start. She tells you what to do on what day. You set a timer and don't do any task for more than 15 min. at a time. You start out small and work your way up. Anyone want to do it with me? If you do go to FLYlady.net and sign up for the group, and let me know. I'm excited I'm going to feel so great when my house is clean. Hopefully I won't be a freak about it though : ). Thanks Katie for mentioning Flylady and laundry, I'm so excited. The picture of the sink is my hug to you (that was a flyladyism just in case you didn't recognize it. ROFLSHIP)
